If you have been following the latest developments from the Kidney Kings Podcast, you already know that the Dialysis Voice of America has gone quiet.
After a valiant, multi-year battle with End Stage Renal Disease, Marie J. Yates passed away at home under hospice care, in the arms of her husband, Sam Yates.
Marie’s enduring goal was simple, powerful, and unwavering:
If you are living with a kidney disorder, kidney disease, dialysis, a pending transplant, or any other challenge related to kidney care — YOU are NOT alone.
There is no source of podcast information, patient truth, or real-world kidney advocacy that can touch and change lives the way Kidney Kings can. Our mission now is to continue the passion Marie carried behind the scenes — the questions, the research, the outreach, and the determination — through the continuation of the Kidney Kings Podcast and here on the Kidney Kings website.
Please join us in the fight against a disease that is too often ignored.
From employers who discriminate against individuals who may look “fine” on the outside but are carrying an immense burden… to medical professionals who don’t ask the right questions early enough… we will keep saying what Marie refused to stop saying:
YOU are NOT alone.
From the latest research and pharmaceuticals to future developments and patient breakthroughs, our goal is to provide the information that helps you make decisions that could literally save your life.
These “little things” are mighty important, and they are part of the long list of what we will continue to share in honor of Marie’s purpose and her voice.
Join us in our journey.
And please keep our family in your prayers.
Marie J. Yates, The Dialysis Voice of America, has passed, but she is far from silent.
